Acro & Tumbling

Come and safely learn the basic techniques of floor acrobatic movements and tumbling.  

WEST END (CITY DANCE CORPS) ONLY

Flexibility

Flexibility classes will work on creating more length in muscles in passive and active flexibility by use of difference exercises and techniques and props.

Handstands

This class will build from basic handstand techniques to get you properly upside down and find your own balance.

EAST END (STUDIO FLUX) ONLY

Intro to Tumbling

This class is a great introduction to tumbling and floor basics. Have you ever dreamed of cartwheeling through a field, being able to do a freestanding handstand on your own or kick over through a back-walkover? This class will focus on fundamental tumbling skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels and walkovers. Using classical gymnastics style progressions you will increase core strength, mobility and flexibility all through dynamic and fun activities. Beginners are welcome! No experience necessary.

EAST END (STUDIO FLUX) ONLY

Partner Acro

In this partner acrobatic series we will work on progressions with both static, balancing and dynamic acrobatics with other participants in class. No experience necessary and you don’t need to bring a partner.

Walkovers

Are you an aerialist or a dancer who has always wanted to flip, but somehow that first walkover seems to elude you? This class is geared specifically to the goal of achieving front and back walkovers. Using classical gymnastics progressions, we will focus on the core components necessary to achieve a walkover including core strength, bridge and shoulder flexibility, weight transference, and dynamic movement through handstands. This class also includes hands on spotting and learning strategies to get over the mental block of falling backwards onto your hands!
